Position Summary: Free Press is seeking a Web Developer who is inspired to innovate for lasting change on media, technology and democracy issues. This work includes designing and implementing inventive Web applications, maintaining existing Web projects and integrating with technology partners. Working in a fast-paced environment, the Web Developer will configure sites built primarily with the Drupal CMS; program modules and implement other custom Web applications; and develop and troubleshoot other PHP/MySQL-based applications. The Web Developer will also work closely with outside vendors to ensure that our website’s technological infrastructure is stable, secure, performs well and is up to date. S/he will work in a team approach to design and develop engaging online tools that expand public participation in media advocacy and advance our campaign and organizational goals.
This position is based in our Florence, Mass., office. This job requires some evening and weekend work. Occasional domestic travel required.
